Our commitment
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines help make web content accessible to people with disabilities, including visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive impairments.
What we do
- Semantic HTML: We use proper heading structure, landmark regions, and meaningful markup throughout.
- Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements are reachable and operable using a keyboard alone.
- Skip links: A skip-to-content link is provided on every page.
- Colour contrast: Text meets WCAG AA contrast ratios against its background.
- Focus indicators: Visible focus outlines are provided for all interactive elements.
- Responsive design: The website adapts to different screen sizes, zoom levels, and text scaling.
- Alt text: Images include descriptive alternative text where appropriate. Decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
- ARIA labels: Where needed, ARIA attributes provide additional context to assistive technology.
Client websites
We apply the same accessibility standards to the school websites we build and manage. All Opract-built websites include semantic structure, keyboard accessibility, focus management, and appropriate contrast ratios as standard.
Known limitations
While we work to ensure comprehensive accessibility, some areas may still need improvement. Third-party embeds and client-provided media may not always meet our standards. We continuously review and address these gaps.
